About the FoundationWhat is Homes4NC? Homes4NC was established in 2004 by the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® to promote safe, decent and affordable housing for all in North Carolina. We do this by raising funds, and in conjunction with local REALTOR® associations, making matching grants to nonprofit and public agencies that help low- to moderate-income families with their housing needs. We also provide disaster relief and educational programs that enhance housing opportunities. Homes4NC is controlled by a Board of Directors made up of volunteers from the real estate industry and other statewide housing representatives. The REALTORS® elected to the Board of Directors serve as representatives for the local boards throughout the state to direct the activities of the foundation in their community. Numerous other volunteers give of their time and talents to serve on various committees and task forces, which do the real work of the organization. The North Carolina Association of REALTORS® already has an established track record of achievement on the housing affordability front in the policy/legislative arena. Through its Housing Opportunity Foundation, Homes4NC, North Carolina REALTORS® will make a direct impact on housing affordability in their community. Who does Homes4NC Help? We provide grants to housing related organizations that assist first-time homebuyers, the homeless, families threatened with eviction or losing their homes, victims of natural disasters and more. Our focus is on helping those who serve our communities -- such as teachers, firefighters and nurses -- to find affordable housing in the communities they serve. Are contributions to Homes4NC tax deductible? Homes4NC is tax-exempt as a 501(c)(3) organization, so your contributions as an individual or business are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
