Grants

Homes4NC was established to promote safe, decent and affordable housing for all North Carolinians. We do this by raising funds, and in conjunction with local REALTOR® associations, making matching grants to nonprofit and public agencies that help low- to moderate-income families with their housing needs. We also provide disaster relief and educational programs that enhance housing opportunities.

Since our inception in 2004, we have made grants totaling more than $214,000 to 54 housing organizations across the state. When you consider that local REALTOR® associations provided matching funds, NC REALTORS® have had a direct impact of over $400,000 in five years!  

How it Works

To be eligible for funding, organizations must be based in North Carolina with a 501(c)(3) status or be a public agency.

The purpose of the grant must be congruent with our mission, which is to provide safe, decent and affordable housing (both permanent and temporary), to provide emergency housing assistance and to provide education on housing issues.

Lending a Helping Hand

Members of the Greater Chapel Hill Assoc. of REALTORS "Fix-a-Home" Team recently made
much needed repairs to the home of a Carrboro
school system employee with the help of
a Homes4NC grant.

This is a matching grant program, so the first step in the grant process is getting support from your local REALTOR association.

In order to be considered for funding, a local REALTOR® association must provide matching funds to the organization that they are requesting the grant for. 

Homes4NC will consider grant applications on a quarterly basis (March 31, June 30, Sept. 30 and Dec.31).
